This past Saturday park employees and visitors celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Petroglyph National Monument. The event went incredibly well. We received news coverage and more than 200 people came to the event. Our Superintendent, Dennis Vasquez, gave a speech and there were a number of talks about Petroglyph’s future. Volunteers spoke with kids and gave them stickers, Jr. Ranger books, and pencils. A cool macaw petroglyph key-chain was given out to people who wanted it as a souvenir for the event. To end the event a jazz band played for the last hour. There was food, of course. Green and red chili was a must. Obviously there was cake, it was a celebration and no celebration is complete without cake!
