Finally had the JAWS Program out to our park to spread mulch on the trail. They spent two weekends spreading about a mile of mulch around the Battlefield Park’s wood chip trail. All the them males who chose to volunteer for their sentence instead of sitting in jail. We appreciate their time, energy, and effort.

While there is still a part of the trail that needs mulch which we have more mulch than we need… we’ll have to call on the community and local Boy/Cub Scouts to help with the rest.

This last weekend we also had Boy/Cub Scouts clear a section on our trail with mulch and moved six or so picnic tables to the area. We now have a wonderful area to rest and eat on our trail.

Thanks to everyone who helped with our trail maintenance!
