As many of you know, portions of the southeast region were affected by Hurricane Matthew. This storm was a very powerful, long-lived and deadly tropical cyclone. It became the first Category 5 Atlantic hurricane since Hurricane Felix in 2007. Timucuan was very fortunate that the damage was not worse than it was. We suffered many fallen trees and minor flooding. Structures with importance behind them were spared, such as the Kingsley Plantation House below. This is the oldest plantation house in Florida, and is still in its original condition.
